Understand Clocks

The preferred method of ultrasound annotation is with clocks and centimeters from the nipple. Firstly, the breasts are viewed as a clock face. Directly above the nipple on either breast is 12:00. The right medial and left lateral breast clock is 3:00. Directly below the nipple is 6:00. Right lateral breast and left medial breast are 9:00. Next, the distance of the lesion to the nipple is measured and notated in centimeters from nipple.
